The Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) is a government-funded grant to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) access the tools and advice they need to grow their business online.

Grow Your Business Online Grant

Receive a micro-grant worth up to $2,400 to help get your business online, give your e-commerce presence a boost, or digitalize business operations.
Up to $2,400
The grant can help you

  • get a new digital workspace

  • adopt an e-commerce platform

  • develop a new e-commerce portal

  • adopt and install a CRM to track sales, marketing to customers, offer discounts, maintain a loyalty program

  • implementation or improvement of an existing digital e-commerce platform such as install/enhance new e-commerce plugins or features

  • develop a new company website

  • add functionality to your existing site such as online reservation/booking tools, online ordering systems, electronic payments

  • develop or enhance website search optimization (SEO)

  • increase cybersecurity including activities to secure network and privacy of customer data

  • get new digital marketing strategies and execution

  • adopt and install an ERP to track accounting and manage inventory

You are eligible to apply if your business

  • is Canadian registered or incorporated business

  • is for-profit, consumer-facing, brick and mortar and/or online business

  • had at least $30,000 in annual revenue in the most recent tax year OR has at least one employee (other than the owner)

  • commits to maintaining a digital adoption strategy for six months

  • agrees to participate in follow-up surveys, share experience data, and have its name published as a grant recipient

How can you use your $2,400 grant?

Eligible costs are those that relate to the implementation of e-commerce solutions or the net new cost for improving an existing e-commerce plan, which include:

Get a new digital workspace

To elevate your work experience, get a new digital workspace. Unlock enhanced collaboration, productivity, and innovation tailored to your needs.

Get a new e-commerce site

To develop a new e-commerce website or add functionality to your existing site (e.g. online booking tools, online ordering systems, and e-payment).

Get a new set of software

To pay up to 20% of the total cost of back office hardware or software solutions which directly support e-commerce implementation up to a maximum of $480.

Get better cybersecurity

To pay the cost cybersecurity software (e.g., Norton, McAfee, Panda, etc.) to protect customer data; to get cybersecurity assessment, planning, and implementation.

Get a new CRM system

To track and manage your sales,marketing to customers, offer discounts, maintain a loyalty program; to design and implement business ERP and CRM.

Get greater customer engagement

To enhance digital engagement, implement strategies for an elevated online presence and interaction, boosting reach and satisfaction with our tailored solutions.

Get a new digital marketing strategy

To revitalize your marketing approach and get a new digital strategy. Unlock innovative methods tailored to your brand, driving enhanced reach and engagement.

Enhance website search optimization (SEO)

To elevate your online presence and captivate your audience, boosting visibility, engagement, and overall success for your brand.

Components
How does it work
Up to $15,000

Grant

Get up to 90% of costs for retaining the services of a digital advisor and developing a Digital Adoption Plan, to a maximum of $15,000.

Up to $100,000

Loan

Get a 0% interest loan of up to $100,000 from the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) to facilitate the acquisition of new technology.

Up to $7,300

Wage subsidy

Receive a wage subsidy of up to $7,300 to hire a skilled youth to implement the technologies that can propel your business forward.

The grant can help you

  • adopt digital business enabling solutions

  • reduce overhead costs

  • speed up transactions

  • respond to clients more quickly

  • manage inventory more efficiently

  • improve supply chain logistics

You are eligible if

  • you're an owner or director (or are authorized by the director)

  • your business is Canadian-owned

  • is for-profit and has 1 to 499 employees

  • has had at least $500,000 in annual revenue in 1 of the last 3 years

Application process

  • Step 1: Create your account

  • Step 2: Confirm your eligibility

  • Step 3: Work with a digital advisor to develop your digital adoption plan

  • Step 4: Submit your claim to receive your grant payment
